Therapy with Anna
If you choose to book an exploratory therapy session with me you may have the opportunity to come in person to Heron Meadow. During colder weather days these sessions may take place in the warm Shepherd Hut or ‘Bothy’, or else in the yurt for couples or small groups. When the weather is warm, it is possible for the session to include time spent outside, finding places for contemplation or inspiration along the river bank, willow circle… or in proximity to the ponies, donkey or sheep. The animals may become a part of our therapeutic conversation – offering something meaningful into the exploration - or they may just be peaceful companions for your visit.
The land of Heron Meadow has a very special feel to it; it is a safe and welcoming space. The facilities there are basic and off-grid, so you can de-compress and begin to feel closer to your own natural state of being.
If you wish to book an appointment with me at Heron Meadow, I will send you details of how to find it and what to bring in case of bad weather.
Alternatively, if coming to Heron Meadow for an in-person visit is not a practical option for you, then you can arrange to have a session with me over Zoom.
Constellations
My training as a facilitator of Bert Hellinger’s Family Systems Constellations is a journey which began in 2004. Since 2006, I have offered workshops in this approach. These days, during the summer months, I offer one-day and three-day immersive camps of constellations in nature at Heron Meadow. During the winter months, workshops are held in Norwich and at other venues by request.
This systemic framework and lens informs all of my work with individuals and groups.
The process of systemic constellations rests upon the experience of a unified field of ‘knowing’. In common with the practice of ‘Focusing’ (Gendlin), constellations unfold through our bodily-felt experiencing of our relatedness with others in our system. We may be unconsciously enacting limitations which are to do with the fate of someone in an earlier generation – an inter-generational trauma pattern. Sometimes our own life experiences have left us with invisible scars, the legacies of trauma which may still seem to prevent us from living life fully or expressing our heart’s desire. What is extraordinary is that, during a constellation workshop, other people can represent aspects of this system or pattern and experience directly something significant and helpful about it.
The process of constellations is gentle, with movements and sentences that are aimed at untangling an individual from the issues and narratives that have blocked them from expressing their authenticity. The situation can be complex; sometimes, there are both intergenerational patterns of trauma and layers of personal history to be acknowledged and included. However, with the support of the group in a constellation workshop, we can begin to experience directly something of how we will feel in our bodies when we are freed from those old narratives, ways of holding ourselves back or bending ourselves out of shape in order to survive and ‘fit in’.
If you would like to experience a constellation workshop, you can find the dates of upcoming events on this website. And if you would like to discuss the idea of attending a workshop before committing to coming, please feel free to contact me using the form, and we can arrange a time to talk on the phone.
A great deal can be learned and healed simply from being a representative in a constellation of someone else’s family system. I am also able to work on a one-to-one basis using objects and small figures to represent family members.

About
I have worked as a therapist with individuals and groups of people for over 27 years in a wide variety of clinical contexts, including community, residential and custodial settings, as well as in my private practice in Norfolk. Now I offer therapies chiefly in the peaceful surroundings of Heron Meadow, in my shepherd hut or the little ‘Bothy’, as well as online.
Born on a farm in the Breckland area of Norfolk, I grew up with animals, and after leaving school, I went to work as a shepherd on a hill farm in North Wales. I have always had a deep love of and affinity for the natural world, and I have a profound belief in its innate wisdom and generosity. In 2019, I sold my house in order to buy some land on the banks of the river Waveney, on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk, here I have collaboratively set up a Centre for Healing and Learning in Nature. The intention of this project was to provide a therapeutic space for people to be able to experience their own healing connection with nature. This project is called Heron Meadow CIC https://heron-meadow.jimdosite.com/
As a mother and grandmother, I am convinced that the well-being of future generations must rest upon our capacity and willingness to recognise and respect the Earth as our planetary home and to understand that our fate is intrinsically involved with the fate of all living things. With this in mind, we must learn to tend carefully and relationally to the environment, listening respectfully to our own deep wisdom and to that of the Land.
